ZIM will implement a GRtI on exports from the USA starting November 1st. Peak season will be extended until the end of the year
Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. said last week it would extend the peak season surcharge of US$ 175 per TEU until the end of the year on westbound cargo moving from Asia and the Indian Subcontinent to Europe and ports on the West and East Mediterranean, Adriatic and Black Sea.
In a press release the company said: "Surcharge will be applied on West Bound trade from Asia and Indian Sub Continent to Europe, West Med, East Med, Adriatic, Black Sea, effective till December 31st, 2009."
ZIM also published it is about to implement a General Rate Increase on exports from the USA.
Zim inform that a General Rate Increase will be implemented on the exports from the USA as follows: To Asia: $100 per TEU effective as from November 1st; To East and West Mediterranean and to Africa $50 per TEU effective from November 5th; To North Europe $50 per TEU effective as from November 15th.
This increase is necessary in order to maintain our current levels of service and high reliability.
