Zim Integrated Shipping Services issued a statement last week announcing it had invested $100 million in a container plant in Qingdao, China, called CXIC Star Container Co. Ltd.

Zim has a 55% share in the plant, together with local companies, CXIC Group, Jiaoyun Group and Qingdao Luhai. The new project will have an annual production capacity of 150,000 TEUS and the annual turnover will be $250 million.
 
Zim also has a 25% share in a container factory in South China.  According to the statement this is Zim's largest project in China, following several successful CFS investments in Tianjin, Qingdao, Xiamen and Shanghai.
 
Zim Integrated Shipping Services has also established a fully-owned subsidiary in Shanghai, Zim Logistics (China), which provides forwarding, customs clearance services, trucking (inland transportation), inland distribution, NVOCC, airfreight, consolidation services as well as warehouse management services.
