Zim reported its customers last week that new increased capacity from Asia to the East Mediterranean and the Black Sea will be introduced as of mid September 2007.
The new setup includes 3 major lines, calling the main ports along these routes. According to Zim's spokesman, as part of the rationalization, this new development enables Zim to improve the port coverage to answer the market's needs.
The AMP line will be operating with 13 vessels of about 3,800 TEU’s in the following rotation:
Piraeus-Kumport-Constanza-Colombo-Singapore–Shekou-Hong Kong-Shanghai-Pusan-Vancouver- Pusan-Shanghai-Xiamen-Hong Kong-Shekou-Singapore-Piraeus
The FMX line will be operating with 7 vessels of about 3,000 TEU’s in the following rotation:
Shanghai-Shekou-Port Kelang-Djibouti-Ashdod-Haifa-Djibouti-Shanghai
The CBX line will be operating with 7 vessels of about 4,000 TEU’s in the following rotation:
Shanghai-Ningbo-Shekou-Nansha-Port Kelang-Kumport-Constanza-Illichevsk-Shanghai
Zim feeding network will connect all Asian ports in Shanghai and Shekou. East Med and Black Sea ports will be served via Piraeus, Constanza, Kumport and Haifa.
