YM Upsurgence, an TEU 8,626 full-container, the fourth of five same-size ships ordered in August 2007 from the China Shipbuilding Corp (CSBC-Taiwan), called at Ashdod port on January 19th.  

The YM Upsurgence is assigned to the Asia-Med CKYH Loop 2 [MD2 Service (Asia–Mediterranean Sea)] and follows the "YM Unanimity" that was delivered in August. Delivery of the last unit in the series, the "YM Unicorn", is expected in March 2013.

YM Upsurgence has adopted highly advanced designs of environmental protection to enhance her green competitiveness and marine-protection reputation. The new containership features fuel-saving and high capacity.

While upgrading its fleet, Yang Ming keeps contributing to environmental protection accommodating customers’ demands and providing ever better service.
